LAURA G: WAS IT WORTH IT?

“In the end, Rizap gave me the tools I needed to not only lose weight and get toned, but to maintain it.”

“RIZAP HAS A UNIQUE SYSTEM WHERE YOU PAY FOR BOTH PERSONAL TRAINING AND

individualized nutrition counselling. This is definitely different from any other gym or personalized training I've ever encountered.

THE PROGRAM

After the initial body assessment and nutrition counseling, I started with a 2 month program where I worked out twice a week for 50 minutes with a trainer, and then sent my daily food log. Rizap follows a low sugar diet.

“ At first, I was just going to get my money’s worth (more about that later), but when I started to train with Komina, I started to really look forward to and WANT to work out. ”

THE PROS

My trainer, Komina, was the BOMB. At first, I was just going to get my money's worth (more about that later), but when I started to train with Komina, I started to really look forward to and WANT to work out. She kept things fun and interesting, but also wouldn't allow me to slack. Most of the time I didn't feel like I was really doing much effort but I was seeing results! And people around me were too!

She responded daily to what I ate and offered suggestions on how to tweak what I was eating in order to get the results we wanted. She kept things real and doable - introduced me to products that are readily available but I just never knew they existed, or gave me realistic feedback on my meals like "you're not getting enough protein - try adding this" or the day after I fell off the bandwagon, she'd encourage me and say "It's ok - just try doing this today."

THE CONS

Don't get me wrong. They have an awesome program. BUT, the cost of the program is not for the faint at heart. I paid more for 2 months of twice a week training (16 sessions) + nutrition counselling than I would for regular gym membership for a whole year. Was it worth it? Yes... BUT it's definitely not something the average person can afford to begin with, let alone to continue.

The other thing is that they are located in Waikiki. Most local people don't go into Waikiki. So it's not really located in a part of town where most people would go. Who wants to go into Waikiki and fight off the tourists in order to go to the gym? I happen to work in Waikiki so it worked out for me, but maybe that's why their rates are so high?

CONCLUSION

In the end, Rizap gave me the tools I needed to not only lose weight and get toned, but to maintain it. So what was the best part of my Rizap experience? My trainer for sure! Thank you Komina!!!”
